Hello! I'm Casey Hollins, owner and photographer at
Casey Hollins Photography.

I'm so excited to meet and work with you to create the best senior portrait experience I can provide. This is one of the most exciting times of your life and I am thrilled to be a part of it!

This special page (just for CHP seniors) tells you what to expect from me, and includes a questionnaire to help me get to know you better!

Throughout this experience don't hesitate to reach out to me with questions you may have. I can't wait for your senior session.

Sincerely,

Casey Hollins

Dress For Success:

Your senior session should reflect your style. Think about what makes you feel the most attractive and the most comfortable. Spend some time finding at least 4 outfits that best represent your style. Do you have a favorite color? Mine is purple. If you have a color that you love then don't be afraid to wear it in your photos.

Ask for advice. You have friends and family who will be ready and willing to offer their opinion. But, if you find yourself in a position where you just can't decide, don't hesitate to reach out to me for advice as well. That's what I'm here for!

As a part of my senior sessions, I offer an optional formal (drape) portrait. Think about whether or not you need that portrait, this way I can have the studio set up and ready for you in advance.

Outfits to Consider:

  1. The Parent Pleaser: A more refined look to keep your parents happy...but keep in mind it doesn't have to be boring! Think solid colors, nothing too revealing, blouses, sweaters, dresses, etc.
  2. Your Choice: This outfit should make a statement about you. It can reflect an activity, hobby, sport, or be high-fashion!
  3. Outdoor - With such a wide variety of outdoor location options think of something that will look appropriate for a natural environment. Think earthy tones, layers, casual.

Where, Oh Where:

If you, or your parents, have a favorite location where you would like to take pictures during your senior session let me know in advance so I can map out our session schedule. We will want to choose the best and most efficient starting point. If you don't have a place in mind, then please share with me the types of places you like and that speak to your personality. This way, we can choose a location that reflects who you are and where you'll fit right in.

Some locations require advanced permission to access. So let's be sure to think through that before the day of your session.

One of the benefits of working with me is that I have access to two rural locations of my own. I have a property in Bumpass with fields, a pond, a river, and an old cabin. I also have a rustic farm where my studio is located. You're welcome to include either of those locations in your portrait session.

Details, Details, Details:

The little things do matter! Before you leave the house for your session, go over this checklist to make sure you have it all covered:

  • Shoes: Dressy and casual. Bring heals of varying styles and heights.
  • Accessories: Jewelry, hats, scarves, hair accessories, etc.
  • Dark, medium and/or light jeans
  • Bring cami's for layering (white, nude, black or colorful)
  • Sports gear: Uniform, jersey, equipment, awards, etc.
  • Hobbies: Musical instruments, dance costumes, artwork, books, etc.
  • Make sure clothes are clean, wrinkle free and on a hanger.

Look and Feel Your Best:

Although I will retouch every image, these tips and tricks will have you looking and feeling fabulous in your photos:

  • No chipped or overly bright nail polish. Neutral colors work best.
  • Avoid sunburn, tan lines, or too orange of a spray tan.
  • Brows should be groomed. Enhance lashes with mascara.
  • Bring glossy lip gloss. Bring a variety of shades.
  • Use a moisturizer without SPF which tends to add shine.
  • Pack your makeup bag for touchups.
  • Drink plenty of water and get a good night's sleep.
