Happy Mother's Day

The greatest joy of my life started when I became a mom, and ever since then I have been more and more grateful for my mom. I've also become more grateful for all of the moms I meet.

Being a mother is truly an honor and I see so much love pour out of the women I meet and into their families.

Today I want to wish all of the moms out there a Happy Mother's Day. I'll start with my mom.

It's so strange because just the other day standing half naked in my bathroom rushing to hurry up, get dressed, and get out the door for work or a photo session or something, I had an epiphany (I have these often lately). I realized that all of the feelings I have about my children, all of the worry, the fear, the total terror (sometimes), the anger, the love, the happiness, every single one of them...my mom felt those very same feelings. This should have occurred to me long before now but it didn't. This is my mom we're talking about. My mom. It never occurred to me that she felt all of the things I have been feeling never. Because that's my mom. She's just my mom.

I can only gasp at myself because I work myself crazy and try so hard to be the perfect person and I can guarantee that my boys are looking at me thinking that's just my mom. I wanted to cry when I had this epiphany. What an odd moment it was. I know my mom loves me. But to realize the depth of her love at that moment was truly a blessing.

I'm sure there have been times when I didn't say I love you to my mom enough or tell her I appreciate everything she has done for me or gosh the list could go on. I'm not the perfect daughter, but I love my mom and I know she loves me. And we're just who we are and I like it that way.

Happy Mother's Day Mom!

And Happy Mother's Day to all of the mom's who have given me the distinct honor of capturing your sweet moments with your babies, and your older children! Every single one of you are a treasure and I hope you know how much!

Me and my mom on my wedding day!

All these photos put a smile on my face. The loves shines through each one of them.
